Joint Statement by Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker and General David H. Petraeus Condeming the Suicide Bombings in Tal Afar

The U.S. Embassy Baghdad and the Multi-National Force-Iraq strongly condemn the terrorist car bombing that occurred on Friday in the Moalameen Market in Tal Afar. The targets of these vicious and cowardly attacks were innocent Iraqi men, women and children.
We will work closely with the people and Government of Iraq to confront those who carry out these barbaric acts. We know that such senseless attacks will further unite the Iraqi people in their rejection of al Qaeda and the indiscriminate violence they inflict upon the citizens of Iraq.
